Oak Tree South® is committed to providing dependable products and responsive customer support. If an Oak Tree South® product experiences a defect in materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period, contact us and we will work with you to determine the appropriate solution.

Warranty Coverage

Unless otherwise stated on the individual product page, new Oak Tree South® products are covered as follows:

Generators & Gas-Powered Equipment
2-Year Limited Warranty — Residential Use
1-Year Limited Warranty — Commercial Use

Battery Jump Starters & Electrical Products
1-Year Limited Warranty

1-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects

The warranty period begins on the original date of purchase and applies to the original purchaser.

WHAT IS COVERED

This Limited Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that occur during normal use of the product within the applicable warranty period.

Proof of purchase may be required. For products with serial numbers, the product serial number may also be required when submitting a warranty claim.

HOW WARRANTY CLAIMS ARE HANDLED

If you experience a problem with an Oak Tree South® product, contact Oak Tree South before returning or shipping the product.

Please be prepared to provide:

• Name and contact information
• Order number or proof of purchase
• Product model and serial number, if applicable
• Description of the problem
• Photos or video showing the issue, when requested

Oak Tree South may first assist with troubleshooting to determine the cause of the problem.

OUR WARRANTY PROCESS

1. TROUBLESHOOT
We work with you to identify the problem.

2. PARTS OR REPAIR
When appropriate, Oak Tree South may provide replacement parts or another repair solution for a covered defect.

3. REPLACEMENT
If Oak Tree South determines that repair or component replacement is not practical or commercially reasonable, we may replace the product.

Oak Tree South will determine the appropriate warranty remedy based on the nature of the defect and circumstances of the claim.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR GENERATORS & FUEL-POWERED EQUIPMENT

DO NOT SHIP A GENERATOR OR OTHER FUEL-POWERED PRODUCT TO OAK TREE SOUTH WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION AND SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS.

Once gasoline or other fuel has been added to a generator or other engine-powered product, special transportation restrictions may apply.

If you experience a problem after adding fuel, do not attempt to ship the generator back to Oak Tree South. Contact us first.

Oak Tree South will assist with troubleshooting and determine the appropriate warranty remedy.

If a generator arrives damaged, photograph the product and packaging and contact Oak Tree South before adding oil or fuel or operating the generator whenever possible.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Improper installation, assembly or operation

  • Failure to follow the owner's manual

  • Improper maintenance

  • Abuse, misuse, neglect or accidents

  • Unauthorized modifications

  • Overloading or operation outside product specifications

  • Improper electrical connections

  • Water, flood, fire or other external damage

  • Improper storage

  • Contaminated, stale or incorrect fuel

  • Fuel-system problems resulting from improper storage or maintenance

  • Commercial use of a product covered only for residential use

  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect normal operation

Routine maintenance and normal wear items are not covered unless the failure is caused by a covered manufacturing defect.

Depending on the product, these items may include oil, filters, spark plugs, hoses, nozzles, seals, O-rings and similar maintenance or wear components.

PRODUCTS NOT COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY

This warranty applies to new Oak Tree South® branded products unless otherwise stated.

Open-box, customer-returned, liquidation, clearance, used, refurbished or third-party branded products sold through Oak Tree South may have different warranty terms. Applicable warranty and condition information will be disclosed on the individual product listing.

LIMITATION OF WARRANTY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Oak Tree South's responsibility under this Limited Warranty is limited to the remedies described above.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary by state.
